Types of Combat Gear

Combat Gear is the gear used by military personnel. From uniforms to body armor, this type of equipment is designed to protect soldiers from injury and death.

In addition to uniforms, combat gear also includes utility vests that provide a variety of pockets for carrying necessities. It can include a Kevlar vest, which is an impressive upgrade from older types of body armour.

Kevlar is a popular choice for many types of protective gear, including bulletproof vests. It is an incredible composite material that offers superior protection without sacrificing mobility or comfort.

A chemical compound called poly-para-phenylene terephthalamide (PPA) is used to create Kevlar. PPA is manufactured by joining long-chain molecules together through a process known as polymerization.

The resulting synthetic fiber is incredibly strong and rigid. The woven structure of the fiber helps to make it resistant to deformation. The molecular structure also allows for the fibers to absorb high-velocity impacts.

Often paired with ceramics, Kevlar is the primary component of today’s protective body armor and ballistic vests. Its tensile strength and extreme durability make it an ideal choice for police officers, security guards, and military operatives. The material is also used in the manufacture of overt body armor and tactical helmets. It can be layered to create different levels of protection, depending on the needs of the individual wearer.

Ballistic Vests

You’ve probably seen bulletproof vests on TV shows or in movies about police officers or war. These are vests that protect the wearer from being hit by bullets and can save their lives. They are worn over clothing and consist of front, back, and side protection. The vest can be expanded by adding hard armor plates for more coverage.

Modern body armor is made from synthetic fibers that are strong, light, and flexible. The first viable bullet resistant fabric was Kevlar from DuPont, and since then a number of different materials have been used. Some of these materials are called aramid fibers.

The ballistic material is encapsulated in slips which are heat sealed hermetic or sewn. The slips prevent moisture from absorbing into the ballistic fibers and causing them to degrade over time. The armor also has a cooling system to help the wearer stay comfortable in hot environments. Some research is also being done to create super-strong and lightweight fibers, like genetically modified spider silk.

Tactical Uniforms

A military-inspired pocket configuration on a tactical pants and combat shirt combination gives the wearer plenty of space for supplies and tools. This capacity helps soldiers reduce the weight of their load, which makes movement quicker and more comfortable. It also protects them from the dreaded immersion foot syndrome, which occurs when feet become so saturated with water that they blister and become painful or numb.

Tactical gear manufacturers walk a fine line between encouraging loose interpretations of the term to boost sales and stoking demand among civilians who want products that will vicariously elevate them into the ranks of real service members or better equip them for acts of violence. The latter is especially dangerous if those buying the gear are already on a path toward radicalization.

Rothco carries a wide range of military, law enforcement and tactical uniforms including classic military BDU Pants and Fatigue shirts as well as advanced Tactical pants and Combat Shirts. All of these military style uniforms are made from high-quality materials to provide the maximum amount of comfort and protection while on duty.

Tactical Shoes

Combat Gear shoes are designed to protect the wearer’s feet from a variety of hazards. They are used by law enforcement officers, soldiers, and paramilitary forces. They are also used by security guards and other professionals who need heavy-duty footwear. They are often breathable and offer flexibility for rapid movement in difficult environments.

They also provide good grip on all types of terrain. The soles are usually made of rubber, and they may have lugs that improve the shoe’s durability and traction. They are also quiet, which allows users to move quickly without giving away their position.

While tactical boots can be worn by anyone, they are especially important for military personnel. Soldiers are on their feet for long periods of time, and they need shoes that can handle any situation they encounter. This type of boot is often more durable than sneakers, and it also offers better arch support. The boots are also lightweight and can fit into small spaces for easy storage in a rucksack.
